Background
- Employment History:
- Irene is one of the longest standing members of ECU, and has experience in secondary teaching, teacher education, psychology and criminology. She has promoted strong links with those responsible for the administration of justice, and courses have been developed in conjunction with the Police, Justice personnel (both state and private) and the aviation and travel security industries.
Irene’s research activities are aimed at developing that body of knowledge necessary for the professionalisation of law enforcement and the administration of justice at local, national and international levels. She is particularly committed to doing this in partnership with members of those occupations. Internationally she works with police and aviation security organisations in the development of knowledge and personnel.
Irene chairs the State Government “Safer WA Funding Advisory Group” and is a member of Strategic Planning and higher level selection committees for WAPS and DOJ. She has been consulted by Royal Commission into WA Police on the development of their research instruments.
