The Sellenger Centre For Research In Law, Justice And Policing
The Sellenger Centre is a Level One research centre in the School of Law and Justice. The Sellenger Centre is focused on the production and delivery of high impact, applied and relevant research, education, training and development in specialised areas of corrections, law, justice and policing.
The Sellenger Centre is the liaison, research and development centre for the School of Law and Justice situated in the Faculty of Business and Law. The School provides funding for the activities of the Centre. Additional income is derived from competitive research grants, consultancies and service teaching. It works closely with the private and public sectors and local, national and international organisations that are involved in the industries associated with the delivery of law, justice, corrections and policing.
The Sellenger Centre has been in operation for over a decade. Originally named the Centre for Police Research it engaged in research, education and development for police. The renaming of the Centre was facilitated by significant growth in the new School of Law and Justice and the changing demands of industry and stakeholder communities.
By harnessing the specialised expertise of relevant University and industry participants, the Sellenger Centre is well positioned to provide research and training associated with the delivery of law, justice, corrections and policing.
