The Sellenger Centre For Research In Law, Justice And Policing
The Sellenger Centre is a Level One research centre within the School of Law and Justice. The Sellenger Centre is focused on providing the services of research, education, training, development and advice to ensure excellence in the delivery of law, justice, security and policing. It continues to expand on its work with local, national and international organisations involved in the industries associated with the delivery of law, justice and policing.
The Sellenger Centre is the liaison and research and development centre for the School of Law and Justice within the Faculty of Business and Law. The School provides funding for the activities of the Centre and income is also derived from service teaching. It works closely with the private and public sectors, local, national and international organisations that are involved in the industries associated with the delivery of law, justice, security and policing. As the Centre for Police Research for in excess of a decade the primary business focus had been towards research, education and development for police. Resulting from the changing demands of industry and community the Centre's services have diversified and grown within the new School of Law and Justice.
The Sellenger Centre has positioned itself to provide research and training associated with the delivery of law, justice, security and policing. Through ongoing collaboration with practising professionals the Sellenger Centre maintains an ability to identify special interest areas where the need for further training has been identified or, through research, identify skills or professional development shortfalls. The Centre then tailors courses or programs to the client’s needs, ensuring relevance, appropriateness and practical application to the specific workplace.
